Discover the Acoustic Cushion range, the ultimate solution for sound absorption and blocking, offered in a versatile “cushion” format with four distinct sizes and shapes. Each cushion features two large, absorbent surfaces, but all six sides effectively absorb sound. Whether you hang it from a tube, lay it flat, or insert it into acoustically transparent enclosures, these cushions provide flexibility and high performance. For detailed installation guidance, please refer to the installation tab. You can also use 20mm conduit tubes for baffle installation.

These premium products are priced individually but come in practical packs as follows:
– AN100: 18 x 60 x 10 cm, packs of 8
– AM100: 30 x 35 x 10 cm, packs of 8
– AG100: 60 x 35 x 10 cm, packs of 4
– AH100: 90 x 60 x 10 cm, pack of 2

Please keep in mind that the dimensions are nominal, as the cushions are designed to be lightly compressed on the 10 cm axis, ensuring an optimal fit and performance. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to transform your space acoustically!

Like many acoustic solutions, Acoustic Cushions are effective at absorbing high-frequency sound. Yet, they truly shine by surpassing industry standards in mid and low-frequency absorption—all at a competitive price. They significantly reduce low- and mid-frequency noise levels, alleviating noise-induced fatigue and boosting overall energy levels. This enhancement can transform daily activities, making people feel more energised and productive.

Nieuw.Co has spent years perfecting the art of interior acoustics. This innovative composite is more compact than other market options, easily fitting into tight spaces while delivering exceptional performance.

With the ability to cover the entire frequency spectrum with minimal depth, Acoustic Cushions create a harmonious, natural sound environment.

5 Things that make Nieuw Acoustic Composites cool.

            1. Does more with less: Works over a wider frequency range than most other products and requires less space to achieve it, reducing low-frequency noise levels associated with stress and fatigue.
            2. Off-the-charts performance: Absorbs and balances sound significantly better than most other acoustic options.
            3. Frameless, swift installation: Quick and simple to install, with no need to affix directly to surfaces, the device absorbs sound from the front, back, and edges.
            4. Seamless integration: Can be included inside other acoustic furniture to enhance existing infrastructure
            5. Responsibly crafted: Made primarily from recycled materials, the device is cost-effective to purchase at scale.

Transform your space into a serene oasis that invites people to relax and unwind.

  • ABSORPTION CLASS (ISO 11654): A
  • ARRAYS: The AG100, AH100, AM100, and AN100 are ideal for creating spaced acoustic arrays that provide the best performance for the lowest cost. Acoustic arrays are used to create large tuned acoustic absorbers with significant cost savings without compromising the outcomes
  • FRAMELESS: It does not have a frame and is semi-rigid. Frameless means that the AH100 and AG100 provide 3D ABSORPTION
  • NRC (Real-world using exposed surface area):
    • A-mount: 1.28.
    • Baffle mount: 1.94
  • TUNABLE: When used as a baffle, the distance from acoustic reflective surfaces can be adjusted to “tune” the lower frequency absorption to optimise the outcomes and balance the acoustics, getting the best acoustic outcomes.

Nieuw.Co Acoustic Cushions can be used and installed in many different ways. Some options have been presented in the diagram below:

Installation options
  1. Batten mounted to a wall.
  2. Inserted into a cover for wall mounting
  3. Using a suspended 20mm tube.
  4. Inserted into a suspended raft or as a pad fixed to the ceiling.
  5. As a tuned acoustic baffle array.

It is important to note that the acoustic performance of the cushions depends on their placement and the installation method used. Please ask for help using our free consulting service.

1. Batten mounted to a wall

A close-up view of the batten-to-wall method shows how it works. A batten is secured to the wall, and the flap of the acoustic cushion is wrapped over the batten. This flap is then stapled to the batten. The batten size can be adjusted to create a gap between the acoustic cushion and the wall, thereby modifying the cushion’s acoustic performance.

2. Inserted into a cover for wall mounting

Enclosed by an acoustically transparent cover. PET board or fabric stretched over a frame is frequently used for this purpose.

3. Using a suspended 20mm tube

Cushions are prepared with a tube that accommodates a 20mm conduit.

4. Inserted into a suspended raft or as a pad fixed to the ceiling

Acoustic cushions are placed on a raft structure. By adjusting the spacing between the cushions and the distance to the ceiling (or soffit) above, you can tune the raft and cushion combination to achieve a balanced acoustic environment in the space.

5. As a tuned acoustic baffle array

By manipulating the spacing of the cushions, an acoustic array can be constructed. These arrays can effectively adjust the frequencies at which sound absorption is maximized and enhance absorption in specific directions.
